Project description
Meeting the requirements for synchronization of the Integrated Power System of Ukraine with the ENTSO-E Continental Europe power system requires the implementation of system-wide measures to improve maneuverability. This allows for real-time frequency control, maintenance of power reliability and quality parameters, and restoration of the power system in the event of a system failure.
From 01.01.2024, NPC Ukrenergo has become the 40th full member of the ENTSO-E Association.
In line with the objectives of COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) 2017/2195 of 23 November 2017 laying down guidelines for electricity balancing, the joint market for the procurement and exchange of Frequency Containment Reserves (FCR) aims to integrate balancing markets in order to promote effective competition, non-discrimination, transparency, new entrants and increased liquidity, while preventing unjustified distortions.
Total country needs: 1000 MW
Program NPC Ukrenergo: 800 MW
Fact of average services in 2022/23 years: FCR – 30 MW, aFRR – 200 MW
